James Neiser, Ph.D., CEO

 

Dr. James Neiser brings over 25 years of business management, strategy and marketing experience with over 20 years in software technologies having worked on a wide variety of enterprise to personal software solutions for both large and small companies on a world wide basis.  

 

Dr. Neiser has worked extensively with emerging technology companies and large international companies in the development of solutions for new markets, developing easier to use solutions for non-technical audiences and bringing together new technologies and interfaces to simplify and increase effectiveness and efficiencies in the workplace. 

 

Prior to joining Compliancy Software, Dr. Neiser was the Chief Marketing Officer for StrikeIron, a venture backed company focused on the commercial Web services market, and was instrumental in working with the founders to launch the StrikeIron Web Services Marketplace and obtaining venture funding.  

 

Prior to StrikeIron, Dr. Neiser was the interim CEO of YellowBrick Solutions, a venture backed marketing automation software company, which was acquired by Automated Resources Group.  Dr. Neiser also served as the CMO of Red Hat Software and held a variety of executive positions at IBM including VP of WW Channel Marketing for the IBM Software Group, VP of Marketing for the Network Computing Software Division and VP of Marketing for the Networking Software Business Unit.

 

Dr. Neiser has also held marketing and management positions with a variety of software and packaged goods companies, including Ashton-Tate (creator of dBase and acquired by Borland), and Carnation (a division of Nestlé). 

 

Dr. Neiser has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Oklahoma State University specializing in memory and information processing. 


 

Mark Shaw, President and co-founder.   

 

Mr. Shaw brings over 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur having founded several companies as well as the development of new businesses within large companies.  

 

Mr. Shaw strategic vision brought together a unique combination of experience in compliance implementations, business process workflow, and non-technical user interface development for business process solutions to develop the Compliancy Internal Control Management solution. 

 

In 2002, Mr. Shaw co-founded ChannelFlex which was renamed Compliancy Software, Inc. in 2005 to reflect its focus and expertise on compliancy solutions.  Mr. Shaw brings extensive experience in the implementation of SOX compliance having worked with multiple customers and accounting firms on the requirements and implementation of internal controls for regulatory compliance. 

 

Prior to Compliancy Software, Mr. Shaw worked with Ultimus, the leader in Business Process Management solutions, and started their Application Service Provider (ASP) business and served in several other management roles, including Business Solutions Development.  

 

Prior to Ultimus, Mr. Shaw co-founded and developed an Internet Services business unit with Nortel and a leader in the venture funding that resulted in the unit being spun off as NeoNova Network Services.  Prior to Nortel, Mr. Shaw founded his first company, Aplex Communications which developed and sold communications equipment to the telecommunications industry.

 

Mr. Shaw holds BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.


 

Jack Tackett, Vice President of Development/Professional Services and co-founder.

 

Mr. Tackett has over 20 years of experience in building strong businesses and customer relationships with experience in compliancy, business process workflow development, Web services, and product development.  

 

Mr. Tackett has been the team leader in driving the development of the Compliancy ICM solution and also serves as the key Professional Services to meet customization requirements for compliancy and workflow processes.  

 

Mr. Tackett’s skills and experience include large enterprise solutions while working at Martin Marietta, Wandal and Goltermann, and Nortel and extensive operations experience in start up environments with YellowBrick Solutions, Plurimus, and Springboard Managed Hosting.  

 

Mr. Tackett holds a BS degree in Computer Science from The University of North Carolina – Asheville and is also a publisher of such best selling books as Que's Special Edition Using Linux and John Wiley and Sons The Visual C++ Construction Kit.
